- BAP Montero (FM-53)
BAP "Montero" (FM-53) is the third out of four "Carvajal" class
frigate s ordered by thePeruvian Navy in 1973. It was built by SIMA ("Servicio Industrial de la Marina", Navy Industrial Service) atCallao under license from the Italian shipbuilder "Cantieri Navali Riuniti". As such, it was the first modernwarship built inPeru . In late 2007 her flight deck was extended to allow ASH-3D Sea Kinghelicopter s to land and refuel, even though they can't be housed in the ship'shangar .Fact|date=September 2008The "Montero" is named after
