June 2 ,1979 inBad Dürrenberg ) is an athlete fromGermany who competes in flatwater canoeing.Ihle was a K-2 kayak 1000m world junior champion in
Lahti , Finland, in 1997, with partnerMarco Herszel . He won his first senior title as a member of Germany's four-man (K-4) 1000m crew which won world championship gold in 2001. In 2004 he won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics in the same event.For the 2005 season he renewed his K-2 partnership with Marco Herszel, replacing
Jan Schäfer . They won 1000m bronze medal at the European championships inPoznań and then went on to take the silver at the 2005 World Championships inZagreb .In 2006 Ihle had a new partner,
Rupert Wagner . The pair started the season impressively with wins inPoznań andDuisburg . They went on to win K2 1000m silver medals at the European and world championships, finishing behind HungariansZoltan Kammerer andGabor Kucsera on both occasions.Ihle is a member of the
Magdeburg club. He is 1.84 m / 6'0 tall and weighs 78 kg / 172 lbs.
