Cosmopop is a London and Berlin-based songwriting and music production team. The duo is focused on writing melodic pop songs, with occasional forays into dance, R'n'B and rock.
History
Cosmopop first became popular in 2000 on the Internet music site MP3.com, with its Eurodance production "Oh la la", produced by Martin Altmeyer and featuring vocals by Conny Angel.
In 2001, the duo was selected as one of five finalists of the "act2001" contest sponsored by BMG and featured on Viva TV.
In 2002, Cosmopop exclusively licensed most of their repertoire to Cyclus / Sony/ATV Music Publishing, incl. the dreamdance production "Dragonfly", performed by dreamdance pioneers X-Perience.
Cosmopop's most widely known song to date is "Heartbeat Radio" which was recorded by several female solo acts incl. Kim Styles and Natasha Thomas. In early 2006, the song entered the German sales charts in a new version called "Radio Heartbeat" produced by Alex Christensen and performed by U.S. based duo R´n´G.
Cosmopop relaunched its online presence on its Facebook site [1] in 2011.
