indie rock band, formed inPhiladelphia ,Pennsylvania at the beginning of the 1990s, and based inWashington, D.C. . The group consists ofsinger-songwriter /guitarist Kurt Heasley and a long list of constantly changingmusician s. Stylistically theirmusic has evolved from theirshoegazing debut album "In The Presence of Nothing". That owed a great deal to My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless") throughThe Kinks style 1960s pop to a more mellow sound on their recent releases. Lilys' most famoussong , "A Nanny In Manhattan" became a hit in theUK Singles Chart after being used in a 1998 advertisement campaign for Levi's.Discography
