The Admiral Nimitz State Historic Site, which includes the National Museum of the Pacific War, formerly known as Admiral Nimitz Museum, is located in
Fredericksburg, Texas , the boyhood home of AdmiralChester Nimitz , Allied Pacific Commander duringWorld War II . The museum is dedicated to telling the story of thePacific Theater of Operations during the war.The complex includes The National Museum of the Pacific War — George Bush Gallery, the Admiral Nimitz Museum, the Japanese Garden of Peace, the Pacific Combat Zone, the Plaza of the Presidents, the Surface Warfare Plaza, the Memorial Wall, the Veterans Walk of Honor and the Center for Pacific War Studies.
