Snake Tales

Snake Tales

"Snake Tales" (also known as simply "Snake", after the main character) is a comic strip written by Australian cartoonist Allan Salisbury (aka Sols). It started on 25 April 1974 and has been syndicated to newspapers worldwide.

The strip is set in an unspecified location in the Australian outback. Occasionally a shot of a traditional outback pub by itself on a lone road is seen.

Characters include:
*Snake
*Lady Snake
*The Flyin' Doc

When it was syndicated in the United States, Sols was asked to re-draw Lady Snake, as her "two lumps" were said to be offensive. He drew her with a bikini top instead. [Bateman, Daniel. "Snake's still after his buxom lady", "Townsville Bulletin", 2008-03-15, p. 20.]

The comic strip inspired a film version in 2000.fact| date=July 2008
