Who's Who in Gold and Silver

Who's Who in Gold and Silver

Established by The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 2002, Who's Who in Gold and Silver is an online directory featuring profiles of more than 200 leading jewellers, silversmiths and art medallists operating in the UK. The directory was founded as part of The Goldsmiths' Company's ongoing 700-year remit to support those working with precious metals and offers artists a space to display their work and outline their techniques and inspirations.

One of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London, The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths has been responsible since 1300 for testing and hallmarking gold, silver and, (since 1975), platinum. The company still carries out this function through the London Assay Office, which is located at Goldsmiths' Hall, the company's Livery Hall. In addition to its role in hallmarking, the company is also actively working to promote and maintain the craft and industry of silversmithing and precious metal jewellery in the UK.
