(2003)"Infamy" is hip-hop duo
Mobb Deep 's fifth album. Infamy was released afterJay-Z dissed Prodigy and Nas on his song "Takeover," off of Jay-Z's 2001 album, "The Blueprint ", which caused Prodigy to strike back on the Track "Crawlin'," in which he calls Jay a female-ass nigga homo emcee. "H to the you know," calls Jay's retaliation of baby pictures weak and threatens to take him out in the street and spank him as well as setting his gun off on him and also mentioning that Jay failed to show up at hip-hop's only awards, calling him "scared...."Infamy has been certified for Gold-level sales, selling over 500,000 copies. The album has been moderately successful critically as well as commercially, getting good scores from The Source and HipHopDX, although it received lukewarm reviews from
