Ideal machine

An ideal machine is an idealistic system in which there is no loss of energy. Loss of energy may occur through any type of radiation, radiational heat for example. In this article, energy loss refers to losses of energy that are not directly accountable for, as when a space shuttle propels itself it both expends energy to move itself and in heat loss.

Use in physics

There are two types of ideal machines in physics: One in which energy loss is negligible, such as a planet orbiting a star (for a limited amount of time). In this case, it is possible to assume that there is absolutely no energy loss. The second form of ideal machine in physics is the system where there is absolutely no energy loss whatsoever. This system requires the observer to include all that the system interacts with as part of the system. The only example of this system is the entire universe, as it is the only observable system that is all inclusive.

Criteria

In order for a system to be an ideal machine, it must follow these criteria:
#It's energy consumption must be equal to its energy emission.
#It's mechanical efficiency must be 100%
