"Understanding in a Car Crash" is the second track on Thursday's second album "Full Collapse" and the band's debut single. It was chosen for release as a single by Victory Records during the band's 2002 tour with Saves the Day without the band's consent. "Understanding" also has a music video which aired on MTV2 in early 2002. It consists primarily of band performance. The song is a staple of Thursday's live shows, usually played together with "The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (Of Control)," a song from the 2006 album, "A City by the Light Divided", that tells the other side of the same story.
