Peter Grant (singer)

Peter Grant (singer)

Peter Grant born in Leeds in 1987, is a British singer of easy listening and jazz music.

He began singing at the age of six and played at working men's clubs from the age of 12.

Peter grew up in the small town of Guiseley north-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire, and was a pupil at Guiseley High School.

His first album New Vintage was released in April 2006 and entered at number 8 in the British album charts, largely thanks to his chat show appearances with Michael Parkinson, Davina McCall and GMTV, where he made his TV debut. His second album Traditional was released on 17 September 2007.

Peter can also be heard singing "Happy Together" on the Twix television advertisement which has been airing since 2007. The single is a cover of The Turtles classic. He released his download only single "Traditional" on September 10th 2007.

Promotion of his 2nd UK album saw Peter perform on GMTV, This Morning and The Alan Titchmarsh Show all on ITV1. The album didn't perform as well as his debut, peaking at no29 on release in the UK album charts. [ [http://www.everyhit.com/searchsec.php everyHit.com search results ] ]

Peter is currently performing at a number of luxurious gigs across the UK. He sold out 5 performances at Ronnie Scott's in October and December 2007. [ [http://www.peter-grant.co.uk/ :: Peter Grant :: ] ]

Peter is famous for having gotten through the auditions and selection on the X-Factor and then declining to go onto the program. He claimed on GMTV in September 2007 that he entered "for a bit of a laugh" and "even before the audition I knew this wasn't for me. It wasn't the right vibe, I wanted to make a career properly, by gigging and getting a name for myself that way". [ [http://www.peter-grant.co.uk/ :: Peter Grant :: ] ]
