Radio Fiza (operating as Radio Faza) was the sixth of the fifteen original pilot Access Radio stations in the United Kingdom which paved the way for the full launch of community radio stations in 2005. The
Asian Women's Project originally provided programming on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays (0700-2300) and Sunday between 1200-2100 hours. The rest of the week consisted of programming from the Karimia Institute which are now broadcasting asDawn FM . Due to losing the bid to keep Radio Faza. Since28 March 2006 97.1FM has consisted solely of programming from theAsian Women's Project . Their slogan is 'For your information, communication and entertainment needs'.Asian Women's Project has experience with local community Radio, as it ran Radio Kiran from 2000 until the birth of Radio Faza.Programming
Programming is primarily aimed at Asian women their families and young people. The service includes local and community news and information, features, interviews, discussions, phone-ins, poetry and literature, and Asian and English music. The station broadcasts in English,
Urdu andPunjabi with a smaller amount of programming inHindi , Bengali,Mirpuri and GujaratiYou can listen to Faza FM live on their website.
