The Río de la Plata Basin ( _es. Cuenca del Plata) is the name given to the 3,100,000 km² hydrographical area that covers parts of
Argentina ,Brazil ,Bolivia ,Paraguay andUruguay .The precipitations falling within this area are collected by several rives to finally reach the
Río de la Plata , many of them through theParaná River and theUruguay River , its two most important tributaries.Among such rivers are the Paraguay, Pilcomayo, Bermejo, Salado, Carcarañá, Tercero, Cuarto, Iguazú, Salado del Sur, Gualeguay, Nogoyá, Mocoretá, Gualeguaychú, Miriñay, Aguapey, Negro, Guaycurú, San Javier, Guayquiraró and Samborombón.
