- Convergence (news music)
Convergence is a television news music package composed by Stephen Arnold. Convergence was composed for WVEC in Norfolk, VA in
2001 . It contains over 18 themes and 695 cuts.Convergence has been used in over 10 markets across the United States. Its musical logo goes to WVEC's slogan at the time of composition, "Thirteen Means Local News". WVEC dropped the slogan in 2003, and in 2004 they brought back their early-mid 90s image campaign, "The Spirit of Hampton Roads". Ironically, Convergence's musical logo goes with that as well. WVEC dropped Convergence in December 2006, but continues to use the "The Spirit of Hampton Roads" slogan.
Convergence has been updated for WVEC with image cuts for their "Spirit of Hampton Roads" image campaign. As well as image cuts being used on WVEC,
WTAE-TV inPittsburgh, PA is using a customized version of the package with the Hearst-Argyle signature for its image campaign when their slogan became "Where the News Comes First".External links
