Royal Docks , eastLondon . It is served by theDocklands Light Railway (DLR), and is inTravelcard Zone 3 . It takes its name from the old Custom House, which formerly stood nearby.The station opened in 1855, around the
Eastern Counties and Thames Junction Railway , which eventually became merged into theNorth London Line . The DLR station opened on28 March 1994 as part of the extension to Beckton. The North London Line platforms were closed on9 December 2006 after the closure of the Stratford to North Woolwich section of the line.It is the principal public transport access to the
ExCeL Exhibition Centre and its adjacent complex of hotels, restaurants and bars. It is linked to the main entrance of the exhibition centre by an overhead walkway, which also connects to theRoyal Victoria Dock Bridge , spanning theRoyal Victoria Dock to its southern side.The proposed
Crossrail line 1's Abbey Wood branch will call at Custom House. If built it would re-use the formerNorth London Line station.External links
