Frederic René Coudert was the name of four successive generations of lawyers associated with the law firm Coudert Brothers

*Frederic René Coudert, Sr. (1832-1903), a founder of the firm. He turned down appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court on two occasions, and assisted in bringing the Statue of Liberty to New York. He argued for protection of Arctic seals in the Bering Sea Arbitration tribunal in Paris in 1893.
*Frederic René "Fred" Coudert "Fred" (1871-1955). In 1897, he and his father became the first pair of father and son lawyers to argue cases before the U.S. Supreme court in a single day.
*Frederic René Coudert, Jr. "Fritz" (1898-1972), Representative in the U.S. Congress from New York 1947-1959
*Frederic René Coudert, III "Fritz III" (b. 1932)
