Lindsay Simmons is a
South Australia n politician and the Labor member for theelectoral district of Morialta . She defeated the incumbent Liberal member,Joan Hall , with a swing of 12% in the 2006 South Australian election. Lindsay is a mother of two who started her career as a teacher at aCatholic school, before moving on to be the CEO of organisations in the health, community and disability sectors. Until entering Parliament, Lindsay worked for the Council of the Ageing where she worked closely with all levels of government to achieve outcomes for South Australian retirees. She is also a Former Commissioner to theEqual Opportunity Tribunal .Lindsay is now part of the Social Development committee. The committee will be chaired by Ian Hunter, a newly elected openly gay Labor MLC. Other members on the committee are
