Babe Hollingbery

Babe Hollingbery

Orin E. "Babe" Hollingbery (July 15 1893, Hollister, CaliforniaJanuary 12 1974, Yakima, Washington) was a Washington State University football coach who led the Cougars from 1926 to 1942.

Hollingbery compiled 93 wins in his 17-year career, still the most of any WSU head football coach. The Cougars did not lose a home game from 1926 to 1935.

Hollingbery coached Washington State Cougars during what is generally agreed as its greatest football era. Hollingbery coached players Brick Muller, Turk Edwards, Rags Matthews, Herbert "Butch" Meeker and George Sauer.

Hollingbery Fieldhouse at WSU is a facility serving many different sports. It was built in 1929 and named after the legendary coach in 1963.
