Perambalur is a taluk and town panchayat in Perambalur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The taluk also includes the town panchayat of Kurumbalur

The SEZ planned by SREI Infrastructure Finance Ltd is not taking off presently.It SIDCO will soon be setting up an industrial estate at the outskirts of Perambalur town. Approval of a site measuring 44.4 acres at Elambalur by the Directorate of Town Planning has been hastened. According to an official release, a total of 113 plots are to be set up in an area of 27.50 acres. In addition, commercial complexes would be contributed on a site up to a maximum of five cents in area. The city is multi cultured with people from various states residing there.
