- Samburu District
Samburu District is a district in
Rift Valley Province ,Kenya . It covers an area of roughly 21,000 km² (8,000 mi²) in northernKenya where theSamburu tribe live. It stretches north from theWuaso Ng'iro River to the south ofLake Turkana and also includesMount Kulal which lies just east of Lake Turkana.Within Samburu district are the towns of
Maralal (capital),Baragoi ,Archers Post ,South Horr ,Wamba andLodosoit .It also includes the
Samburu National Reserve andBuffalo Springs National Reserve ,Mount Ng'iro ,Ndoro Mountains ,Ol Doinyo Lenkiyieu (Mathews Range),Kirisia Hills , andLoroki Forest .There is a town named Samburu in
Kwale District ofCoast Province of Kenya, but is not related to Samburu District or Samburu people.District subdivision
The district has two constituencies: Samburu East and Samburu West.
