ong Information
"Gimme That" is a song written by
Sean Garrett and produced byScott Storch . In interviews from 2005, Chris considered choosing the song as the second single from his debut album, but the song "Yo (Excuse Me Miss) " was chosen as the single instead. Along with that, "Gimme That" was also featured at the end of the "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" music video. A new version of "Gimme That" featuringrapper Lil Wayne was released as a single instead of the album version. The single debuted on the U.S.Billboard Hot 100 at #80 and climbed the charts quickly, only to peak at #15, becoming his first single to miss the top ten in the U.S. and the top twenty in the UK.Music Video
The music video begins when Chris is at a station on a couch. He sees a girl who is 3 years older than himself. He finds a spot in a chair listening to "Poppin'" on his
Sony Walkman Bean and falls asleep. The dream sequence recreates a train station in 1920sHarlem where he sings and dances with other workers at the station.Lil Wayne , who also calls him "Chris Breezy", wakes Chris up after the dream sequence. The music video was inspired byMichael Jackson 's "Smooth Criminal " and "You Rock My World " videos.Charts
