March 30 ,1888 -October 7 ,1963 ), was an American lawyer, Special Assistant to the Secretary of War during the second World War, and father ofMcGeorge Bundy . Born inGrand Rapids, Michigan , to McGeorge Bundy, a lawyer, he was grandson toSolomon Bundy , a lawyer and New York Congressman. [cite web
