At the 2005 U.S. Open, Jenkins won a dramatic first round match in five sets against Swiss veteran
George Bastl . In his second round match, Jenkins playedRafael Nadal , who won in three close sets. Jenkins was on the receiving end of the fastest serve ever recorded in a match at the U.S. Open, served byAndy Roddick and clocked at 152 miles an hour, during the first round of the U.S. Open in 2004. In June 2006, Jenkins nearly qualified for his first appearance at Wimbledon, but was narrowly defeated in the 3rd qualifying round byJoshua Goodall in a four-set match that featured three tie-breakers. In the 2007 U.S. Open, Jenkins had the misfortune to drawRoger Federer in the first round, and lost to him 6–3, 6–2, 6–4.
