- MV Pont L'Abbé
The MV "Pont L'Abbé" is a
ferry owned and operated byBrittany Ferries . She was built at Aalborg Værft A/S inDenmark forDFDS Seaways as MV "Dana Anglia" and entered service with them in 1978. She sailed betweenEsbjerg , Denmark andHarwich ,United Kingdom between 1978 and 2002 before being renamed MV "Duke of Scandinavia" for service betweenCopenhagen , Denmark andGdańsk ,Poland . She returned to theNorth Sea in 2003 to sail between Newcastle andIJmuiden .In 2006 she was chartered by Brittany Ferries to replace the MV|Val de Loire which had been sold to
DFDS as a replacement for "Duke of Scandinavia". She sails under the French flag and is registered inMorlaix . It was announced on 19 December 2007 that DFDS has sold the vessel to Brittany Ferries. Her final scheduled sailings between Plymouth and Roscoff will be in November 2008, and her future with the company after that is currently uncertain.Regular routes

Under Brittany Ferries, "Pont L'Abbé" has only sailed in passenger service on the Plymouth-Roscoff and Portsmouth-Cherbourg routes. She also sailed between

Brittany Ferries have changed very little on board "Pont L'Abbé" since her service with DFDS. It is rumoured that the charter agreement did not allow major changes to be made to match the facilities on board other Brittany Ferries vessels.
