The Pet de Kat Krewe or PdKK, was founded in 1992 by a group of South Florida music fanatics who shared an audience at live music clubs. When the group started spotting each other at events around the country, a krewe was formed. When discovered by thousands during the 1993 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival [http://www.nojazzfest.com] , the krewe was dubbed as "Worldwide Festivalists".

The PdKK earned respect from musicians by inspiring songs by The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Iko Iko, Chubby Carrier, The Baboons and Terrance Simien. The krewe gained international notoriety in 2002, when they were invited to appear on the Folk Heritage Stage as an official part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The PdKK gathers in an organized sense twice during the year, in New Orleans, Louisiana, for Mardi Gras and Jazz Fest. Subkrewes, or chapters, of the krewe get together for social activities throughout the year.
