Buddyhead Records is also known for the release of the "Gimmie Skelter" compilation which featured bands such as: Primal Scream, Mudhoney, Iggy Pop, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wire, Weezer, Dead Meadow, Le Tigre and others among controversial prank-calls to music-industry luminaries thus extending their "no holds barred" approach toLester Bangs -style music journalism/activism that the initial Buddyhead website is known for. In addition to CDs, Buddyhead Records released aDVD compilation entitled "Buddyhead Presents: Punk Is Dead" through Image Entertainment which featured music videos fromTV on the Radio ,The Jesus Lizard , Singapore Sling,Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Turbonegro, The Locust, British Sea Power,The Dillinger Escape Plan , The Fiery Furnaces & others.Buddyhead Records have also curated a number of
Compact Disc andDVD compilations containing rare and unreleased material from bands such as Mudhoney,Primal Scream ,TV On The Radio .The Jesus & Mary Chain ,Iggy Pop ,Yeah Yeah Yeahs ,Wire ,SHAT , andWeezer .In August 2007, Buddyhead announced they'd signed Denver band, Moccasin.
