The Battalion was activated on
March 26 ,1943 as 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, at Camp Pendleton, California. On19 August 1943 , 2/14 was assigned to the 4th Marine Division. During January 1944, 2/14 was deployed to theMarshall Islands and participated in the followingWorld War II Pacific campaigns:Battle of Kwajalein ,Battle of Tinian and theBattle of Iwo Jima . They were redeployed during October 1945 to Camp Pendleton, California and deactivated on15 November 1945 .The 2/14 was reactivated on
July 1 ,1962 at the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Training Center inDallas, Texas . In February 1966, the 2/14 was assigned to the 4th Marine Division, USMCR. They relocated toFort Worth, Texas in 1988.The battalion participated in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm,
Southwest Asia , November 1990-April 1991. In March 2000, they relocated to Grand Prairie, Texas.ee also
