"Strange Paradise" was a Canadian-made serial broadcast in Canada on CBC Television and in the United States in syndication from October 20, 1969 to July 22, 1970. (U.S. airdates varied.) 195 half-hour episodes were produced. The series was created by Ian Martin and Jerry Layton, and was inspired by the success of the American vampire soap opera, "Dark Shadows". Both series had storylines that dealt with the occult.

Other writers of the series include Ron Sproat (a former writer of "Dark Shadows"), Cornelius Crane, Ronald Chudney, James Elward, and James Salverson. The writer for the final episodes was Harding Lemay - his first serial scripts to be aired.

Actor Colin Fox played the lead role(s) in the series.

Noted performers in the show include Tudi Wiggins and Bruce Gray, both of whom were later in several other soap operas.

Reruns

Drive-In Classics in Canada aired reruns of "Strange Paradise" from October 4, 2004 (just in time for the 35th anniversary of the show's first broadcast) to October 1, 2007.
