Lapurdian

Lapurdian or Labourdin ( "lapurtera" in Standard Basque, "lapurtara" in Lapurdian ) is a dialect of the Basque language spoken in the Lapurdi region of the Basque Country in France. Classical Lapurdian, along with Gipuzkoan and High Navarrese, is used in Batua, a standardised dialect of the Basque language used in teaching and the media.

Classical Lapurdian refers to the form of Lapurdian used in literature during the 17th century, especially by authors like Axular.
