"Swoop" is a "Galaxian" clone for Mac OS by Ambrosia Software. The cast of characters includes your ship, blue swoopers, green swoopers (called grunts), red swoopers (escorts), yellow swoopers (flagships), and on higher levels, an initial charge of shadow swoopers. These enemies perform more evasive and aggressive maneuvers as the game progresses. In addition, you will occasionally be attacked by a spider or a bomber. Power-ups are occasionally given as rewards, and include various weapons and shields. Several mesmerising soundtracks are included.

In contrast to most "Galaxian" implementations, the majority of points may be given on the basis of marksmanship, in terms of how many shots escape the top of the screen. A good strategy is therefore to avoid or waste weapons power-ups and focus on hitting the swoopers at close range. This works because the standard weapon allows only one shot on the screen, but has zero reload time.
