February 14 ,1952 ) is a Swedish football manager. As manager he has won four Danish titles withFC Copenhagen and AaB(Aalborg). He was the manager of Panathinaikos inAthens until September 14, 2006. He was fired after just two games due to the team's poor performance in this time. In July 2007 he was appointed as assistant manager forManchester City in the EnglishPremier League , working alongside fellow countrymanSven-Göran Eriksson . Prior to taking over asManchester City assistant manager he worked as a Senior Advisor for Östers IF as well as football analyst and commentator for Swedish TV4. Hans briefly resigned his position at City after a family crisis in Sweden forced him to take compassionate leave shortly into his time at the club, but after a month was able to return at his former post. Along with Eriksson, Backe and First-Team CoachTord Grip parted company with the Eastlands club, swiftly joining Mexico with the two Swedes.
