Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra

Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra

The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (Finnish: "YLE Radion sinfoniaorkesteri"), founded in 1927, is the chief radio orchestra of the Finnish Broadcasting Company. Their discography includes, besides the music of Jean Sibelius, music by several lesser-known Finnish composers such as Aarre Merikanto and Paavo Heininen. They have also recorded more mainstream repertoire by non-Finnish composers, such as the symphonies of Gustav Mahler and Carl Nielsen.
