The Spektors were an Australian
rock 'n' roll band active in Perth from1964 -1966 , chiefly noted for their drummer and part-time lead singer,Bon Scott , who later went on to great success as lead vocalist withAC/DC .The band was formed in 1964 by John Collins (vocals, drums) & Bon Scott, (drums, vocals) who at that time just played drums, along with Brian Gannon (
bass guitar ), Wyn Milson (guitar ) and Murray Gracie (guitar, vocals). They enjoyed some local success winning the "Perth Hoadleys Battle of the Bands" competition, playing popular songs of the time, often byThe Rolling Stones andThe Beatles . As the band developed, Scott would step up and sing occasionally while Collins played drums, on songs such as "Gloria" .In late 1966, Milson and Scott decided to join forces with local rivals The Winstons, and form a new group,
The Valentines , with Scott sharing vocal duties with Winstons' vocalistVince Lovegrove .Discography
