The Haverford School is a private, non-sectarian, all-boys college preparatory day school, junior kindergarten through grade twelve. Founded in 1884 as The Haverford College Grammar School, it is located in Haverford, Pennsylvania, nine miles outside of Philadelphia.

The current Headmaster of The Haverford is Dr. Joseph Cox.

Athletics

The Haverford School is a member of the Inter Academic Athletic Association, the country's oldest inter-scholastic athletic conference.

Notable faculty

* Donald Grey Brownlow - An army intelligence major in WWII, Brownlow received a purple heart and Bronze Star, as well as the French Croix de Guerre. He fought at Utah Beach, the Battle of the Bulge and Ardeness. Brownlow taught history at Haverford for 55 years, and was the author of 10 books on Military history.

* Maj. Gen. Smedley Darlington Butler 1898 - Two-time Congressional Medal of Honor recipient; Major General in the U.S. Marine Corps; Director of Public Safety in Philadelphia 1924-1925; political speaker and author; nicknamed "The Fighting Quaker."
* Tom Claytor '81 - Single engine Bush pilot who began visiting remote areas in his single engine Cesna since 1990. Claytor's journey has been featured in a series of articles for National Geographic, and in the 1994 National Geographic special "Flight Over Africa". He provided Arial photography and co-starred in the Thai film "First Flight" which premiered at Cannes in 2007.
* Pete Conrad '47 - Astronaut; third man to walk on the moon.
*Theodore Miller Edison (1898-1992), only child of his inventor father who graduated college; went on to become an inventor with over 80 patents.
