The 2/5th Australian Infantry Battalion was a battalion of the 6th Australian Division raised as part of the Second Australian Imperial Force for World War II. It was raised Puckapunyal, Victoria on 2 November 1939. The battalion saw action in Egypt, Libya and Greece before returning to Australia to fight the Japanese. The battalion embarked to return to Australia on 1 December and disbanded at Puckapunyal in early February 1946.
