History
In
1975 Thor separated from itsalma mater and from then on would be known as "Studenten Rugby Club Thor". A bar room was rented at a localrowing club . However, in1993 they were kicked out as a result of some parties that had got out of hand. Only after a long search did Marijn van der Velde find theboat that has become the present clubhouse: "The Forward".Logo
The SRC Thor club logo consists of a man-like figure with a rugby ball. The logo is designed by Swen de Vries in
1965 . Rumours are that the Dutch Rugby Board has requested to use the logo in the past.Club colors
The club colors are Gauloise blue and Charcoal black. The term "Gauloise blue" is derived from the color of a packet of Gauloise cigarettes. The club uniform is a black and Gauloise blue hooped shirt, black shorts and black and Gauloise blue hooped socks.
Boat
The clubhouse is the boat "The Forward", a klipperaak dating from the early 20th century. The boat has a length of ca. 35m and a width of 5.5m. In its cargohole is a bar and some other necesseties. The boat is moored at Nieuwe Haven in Delft. On February 19,
1995 the boat was officially opened following a long period of refurbishing. The date of February 19 is hence a festive date at the clubboat, called "Van Der Velde Dies": an ode to its "finder".Teams
The club has both a men's and ladies team. Both teams play in the Dutch national competition. The men play in the 3rd division national and the ladies play in the premier division of the Dutch competition. Beside Dutch students, there are often some foreign students, studying at
