"Edwina" was episode thirteen of the first season of the TV series "M*A*S*H". It originally aired on December 24, 1972. It was written by Hal Dresner, directed by James Sheldon and guest starred Arlene Golonka in the title role.

In this episode, Edwina "Eddie" Ferguson, a fairly attractive but hopelessly clumsy nurse, cannot find any romance at the 4077th and the other nurses conspire to hold off their romantic relationships with the doctors and corpsman until someone agrees to date her. Eventually, the doctors draw straws and Hawkeye becomes her date for an evening.

Notes

* This episode is one of many instances in American television where "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" is substituted for "Happy Birthday to You" in a birthday celebration, due to the lyrics of "Happy Birthday to You" being copyrighted. Since Edwina is female, the song's lyrics undergo a pronoun change, becoming "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow". This leads to Edwina lamenting that she's "not jolly and not a fellow."
* The episode does not make it clear if Margaret Houlihan, then in a relationship with Frank Burns, joined the nurses' conspiracy to hold off romance to help Edwina. Given Houlihan's persona in the earlier seasons, it would seem unlikely, but it's repeatedly stated in the episode that "all" the nurses were involved.
