He played for Sturt when he used to play in theAustralian Basketball Association . He won the Central ABL’sWoollacott Medal for Best & Fairest in 2003 for theEastern Mavericks . He also played for theNelson Giants in the NZ NBL competition, which is held in the 2005 off-season of the National Basketball League.Holmes debuted for the
Adelaide 36ers in the NBL during the 2001/02 season as a member of the NBL's eventual champion team for the year. He has played for the Australian men's basketball team, and was a member of the gold medal winning team in the men's basketball at the2006 Commonwealth Games . He then was signed by theSouth Dragons just after the end of the 2005/06 season, where he performed well, earning the captaincy as well as MVP for the 2007/08 season. At the end of the 2007/08 season, he signed to return home to Adelaide, to re-join the 36ers squad.External links
