Weingarten, Missouri

Weingarten is an unincorporated community in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri. It is located about thirteen miles southwest of Sainte Genevieve on Route 32. The community was founded in 1887 and its name ultimately comes from the German word for "vine garden", "vinyard". There are wineries and vineyards in the area. Nearby is the old Cornwall Mines, which was a source of copper, and also Hawn State Park.
