Texas Tech University at Abilene is an official off campus teaching site of Texas Tech University located in Abilene, Texas. The site hosts master's degrees in computer science and software engineering, Ph.D. in computer science and Ed.D. in educational leadership offered by Texas Tech's [http://www.cs.ttu.edu/ Department of Computer Science] and [http://www.educ.ttu.edu/epl/ Department of Educational Psychology and Leadership] .
The site was established in 2002 at the request of community leaders in Abilene encouraging the growth of technology in the local economy through scientific research and development. The strength of the site is externally funded graduate computer science research expanding educational opportunities and helping to develop a culture of research in the local community.
Courses are delivered to the site through interactive video from Lubbock and by resident Abilene faculty. Some levelling and software engineering courses are delivered online.
