Ricky Dyson, (born 28 September 1985) is an Australian rules footballer currently playing for Essendon in the AFL.

Drafted late at number 44 in the 2003 AFL Draft, Dyson has proved somewhat a revelation for the Bombers and his progress has been steady since debut. A sharp left footer, he has shown poise as a player of some balance when in possession of the ball as a good decision maker. Playing mainly as a half forward flank and occasionally on the wing, he is showing signs of becoming a part of the emerging young fleet at the club, who are breaking into the mould of key midfielders. Despite being hampered by minor injuries in his first two seasons, his progress both physically and on the field has been very encouraging.

As a child he supported North Melbourne, a team his father played under 19's for before playing for Preston in the VFA. During the summer, Ricky was assaulted in an unprovoked attack after his teammate Adam Ramanauskas bucks party, [ [http://www.bombersfc.com.au/Season2007/News/NewsArticle/tabid/6477/Default.aspx?newsId=17662 Essendon Football Club] Sheedy's Dyson pain] after which he spent three days in hospital, with minor facial injuries.
