genus ofdinosaur from the EarlyCretaceous . It was atheropod ; the fossils were found inKazakhstan in central Asia. As it is known only from two fragmentaryvertebra e, "Embasaurus" is considered a "nomen dubium ": a dubious name. It is named after theEmba River , and is believed to have lived during theBerriasian stage, around 140 million years ago. Thetype species , "Embasaurus minax", was described by prolific Soviet paleontologistAnatoly Riabinin in 1931.References
