Binnaguri is a cantonment town located in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal state, India. It is located at 26° 46' 0N latitude and 89° 2' 60E longitude at an altitude of 216 metres above sea level.

Binnaguri lies pretty close to the Bhutan border, the Bhutanese town of Samchi being just about 10 km to the north. Binnaguri lies in deep Dooars country one can find a lot of tea gardens nearby, prominent amongst which are the Binnaguri Tea Garden, Telepara Tea Garden, Banarhat Tea Garden, Karbala Tea Garden, Lakhipara Tea Garden, Gandrapara Tea Garden and many more. However, the decline in tea industry has increased the poverty and unemployment in the neighbouring areas. The Army Cantonment provides most of the employment opportunities apart from the Tea Gardens in this town.

The town has good educational facilities in the form of the St. Patrick's High School, the Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School), the Army Public School and the St James’ School (NIOS & IGNOU Study Center), the Binnaguri Jr. High School. The town also has a war memorial, an orphanage and a local chapter of the Dooars Tea Association.

THe nearest place of tourist interest is the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary at a distance of approximately 30 kilometers from the town.

Connectivity

Binnaguri is well connected by road to the district town of Jalpaiguri and other nearby towns of Banarhat, Birpara, Hasimara, Siliguri, Gairkata, Dhupguri, Coochbehar etc. It lies on National Highway 31C (which runs from Siliguri to Sevoke road, crosses the Teesta river at the Coronation bridge or Tiger bridge, Binnaguri and onto Hashimara, Alipurduar and beyond).
