6 February ,1941 -27 December ,1992 ) was an American composer.Stephen Albert won the 1985
Pulitzer Prize in Music for his symphony RiverRun.He has won a
Grammy Award in 1995 in the Best Classical Contemporary Composition category for "Cello Concerto" as performed byYo-Yo Ma .His notable students include
Daniel Asia .He was killed in an automobile accident on
Cape Cod in December 1992.Works
