Subways in South Korea

Rapid transit subways operate in South Korea's four largest cities, with two more cities currently building their own systems:

* Seoul - Seoul Metropolitan Subway (11 lines + 2 under construction)
* Busan - Busan Subway (3 lines + 1 under construction)
* Daegu - Daegu Metropolitan Subway (2 lines + 1 planned)
* Incheon - Incheon Subway (1 line integrated with the Seoul subway system + other lines planned)
* Gwangju - Gwangju Subway (1 line partially open)
* Daejeon - Daejeon Subway (1 line partially open)

Operators

*Seoul
**Korail operates a part of Line 1, 3 and 4, Bundang Line, and Yongsan-Deokso Line
**Seoul Metro operates Line 2, and a part of Line 1, 3, 4
**Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation operates Line 5, 6, 7, and 8
*Busan
**Busan Transportation Corporation operates whole subway system and plans bus route.
*Daegu
**Daegu Metropolitan Subway Corporation operates whole subway system.
*Incheon
**Incheon Rapid Transit Corporation operates whole subway system.
*Gwangju
**Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation operates whole subway system.
*Daejeon
**Daejeon Express Transit Corporation operates whole subway system.
