Saint Francis of Assisi College System

Saint Francis of Assisi College System (SFACS) is a system of private, Catholic-oriented but non-sectarian Philippine educational institutions, offering complete education from pre-school up to the graduate or masteral level of education. The main campus is situated in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila.

In its two decades of existence, SFACS, recognized by the Commission on Higher Education, has pursued programs of instruction grounded on academic, cultural, and sports excellence and tempered by Christian – and Franciscan – values exemplified by its patron, Saint Francis of Assisi. SFACS is a sister school of the Seattle Central Community College (SCCC) in Seattle, Washington, United States.

History

Saint Francis of Assisi College System was established on 1981, when the husband and wife team Mr. and Mrs. Arturo and Evangeline Orosco, opened a two classroom preparatory school in Talon, Las Piñas City, Metro Manila, to provide quality education for the young children. By 1983, the school's popularity was such that a two-storey, full elementary school building had to be constructed to meet the surrounding community needs. The opening of the high school department quickly followed in 1986, assuring placements for SFACS graduates in the secondary level. At the same time, two new campuses were established, one in Taguig City, and one in Los Baños, Laguna. In 1989, the tertiary level in SFACS came into being offering several courses both in degree and non-degree programs. New campuses have since been added: the Bacoor, Cavite campus in 1994, and the Ilaya, Alabang, Metro Manila campus in 1996. In the same year in 1996, Saint Anthony School of Las Piñas City came under SFACS supervision and management. The newest campus in Dasmariñas, Cavite opened this school year 1999-2000.
