- Kazusa Province
Kazusa (上総国; -no kuni) was an old province in the area of the
Bōsō Peninsula ofHonshū that is today the central part ofChiba prefecture . Kazusa bordered on Awa andShimousa Province s.Kazusa was usually run from a castle town at Ōtaki, although the ancient capital was likely located near Ichihara, across the peninsula.
History
During the Edo period, the following domains were located in Kazusa:
*Goi, ruled by the Arima family.
*Tsurumaki, ruled by the Mizuno family.
*Jōzai, ruled by the Hayashi family.
*Iino, ruled by the Hoshina family.
*Ichinomiya, ruled by the Kanō family.
*Sanuki, ruled by the Abe family.
*Kururi, ruled by the Kuroda family.
*Ōtaki, ruled by the Matsudaira (Ōkouchi) family.References
