Kernow ( _kw. Cornwall marches on !) was a commemorative march which retraced the original route of the Cornish fromSt. Keverne (Cornwall ) to Blackheath,London , to celebrate the 500th anniversary of theCornish Rebellion of 1497 , sometimes known as theBattle of Deptford Bridge or the Battle of Blackheath. The rebellion was a protest against the English demand to raise taxes to pay for their war against Scotland.A statue depicting the Cornish leaders, "
Michael An Gof " andThomas Flamank was unveiled at An Gof's home town of St. Keverne and a commemorative plaque was also unveiled on Blackheath common.ee also
