Francis Brunn (1923-2004) was a notable
German-American juggler . He was born inAschaffenburg inGermany and after theSecond World War made his home inNew York . He took up juggling in 1939, joining a traveling show that played all overEurope . He moved to America to join theRingling Brothers circus and twice performed for PresidentDwight D. Eisenhower . Francis Brunn retired from juggling professionally in 1994.Though he is believed to have been the first performer to juggle 10 hoops [http://www.artblog.net/?name=2004-06-08-07-34-brunn] , he was best known for his seemingly simple routines, often involving a single ball, that required great control to perform.
