Liverpool College of Art is located at 68 Hope Street, in
Liverpool ,England . It is aGrade II listed building . The building is currently owned byLiverpool John Moores University , in January 2006 and was put up for sale. It may be converted into flats or an extension toLiverpool Institute for Performing Arts . Until December of 2008 it still serves as administration and as a part of the Liverpool School of Art and Design.Amongst its former students are
John Lennon ,Cynthia Lennon ,Maurice Cockrill ,Stuart Sutcliffe ,Margaret Chapman andBill Harry . Clive Langer, Steve Allen, Tim Whittaker, Sam Davis, Steve Lindsey, John Wood and Roy Holt. A mix of Fine Art students and tutors at the college were founder members of seminal 70's art rock band Deaf School who went on to sign a record deal with Warner Bros Records US after being 'discovered' by former Beatles publicist and head of Warners UK Derek Taylor. Deaf School are acknowledged as catalysts of the musical revival of post Beatles Merseyside.External links
